Massachusetts residents – the Overdose Awareness specialty plate is now available at your local RMV or online with myRMV!
The Overdose Awareness plate features an image of a purple ribbon with angel
wings and a halo and the words “Overdose Awareness”. Proceeds from this plate go to TEAM SHARING Inc., which provides support and friendship to grieving families while working to raise awareness of Substance Use Disorder and its impact on our communities.Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles

Eligibility: Anyone can obtain Overdose Awareness plates.
Fees: https://www.mass.gov/doc/rmv-schedule-of-fees/download
The special plate fee is $50.
The initial special plate fee is distributed as follows…
- $16 covers the cost of manufacturing the plate
- $34 goes to the designated organization
Upon renewal, the entire special plate fee goes to the
designated organization.
Renewal: The plates need to be renewed every two years.
Available At: Overdose Awareness plates can be ordered online at
www.Mass.Gov/RMV. They can also be ordered at any RMV
Service Center or any Dealership that is part of the Electronic
Vehicle Registration program. A temporary plate will be
provided and the permanent plates will be mailed.
